Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Habari House. By booking a stay with us, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Reservations & payments

  • Reservations are confirmed upon receipt of payment, as per the selected cancellation policy.
  • Guests must provide valid identification at check-in.
  • Room prices include the Zanzibar hotel levy. The Zanzibar infrastructure tax of USD 4 per guest per night is paid in person at the hotel.

2. Check-in & check-out

  • Check-in: 2:00 PM. Check-out: 11:00 AM.
  • Early check-in or late check-out is subject to availability and additional charges.

  • Guests are expected to behave respectfully toward other guests and staff.
  • Any damage caused by guests will result in additional charges.

5. Property use

  • Rooms are for registered guests only. Hosting additional people without prior approval is not allowed.
  • Smoking is allowed only in designated areas.
  • Please be aware before booking that the property does not currently have a generator for use during power cuts.

6. Liability & security

  • Habari House is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • Management reserves the right to refuse service or end a stay for breach of these terms.

7. Children & pets

  • Children are welcome but must be supervised at all times.
  • Pets are not allowed unless explicitly approved.

8. Data protection & privacy

  • We value your privacy and protect your personal data according to applicable laws.

9. Force majeure

  • We are not liable for interruptions caused by unforeseen events such as natural disasters, strikes or government actions.

10. Governing law

  • These terms are governed by the laws of Tanzania. Any disputes will be resolved under Tanzanian jurisdiction.

Cancellation Policy

We offer flexible booking options. Please review the policy that applies to your booking type.

Flexible, 1 day

  • Free cancellation until 1 day before arrival.
  • Cancellations within 1 day of arrival are charged the first night.
  • No prepayment required.

Flexible, 2 days

  • Free cancellation until 2 days before arrival.
  • Cancellations within 2 days of arrival are charged 100% of the reservation.
  • Full prepayment is required within the 2-day window.

Non-refundable

  • The full reservation amount is charged at booking.
  • Cancellations at any time are charged 100%.
  • All walk-in bookings are non-refundable.

Day Guest Pass

The Day Guest Pass lets local and non-overnight guests enjoy the atmosphere, refreshments and spaces of Habari House while keeping the experience comfortable for everyone.

1. Access & duration

  • Up to 4 hours of access between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, by registration, at TZS 10,000 per guest.
  • The full amount is credited toward food or drink during your visit.
  • Entry by advance booking, or walk-in when space allows.

2. Identification & conduct

  • All guests must show valid identification on arrival.
  • Outside food or drink and disruptive behaviour are not allowed.
  • Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.

3. Hospitality & compliance

  • The Day Guest Pass is part of our licensed hospitality offering.
  • All guests are treated with the same care as overnight guests.
  • Guest records are kept securely for operational and safety purposes.
